2010 South American World Cup Qualifiers

Peru coach Jose Guillermo del Solar excluded defender Walter Vilchez from the squad he called to face Venezuela and Argentina at the South American Qualifiers due to an injury.

Del Solar made the decision after the doctor staff told him he wouldn't recover on time from a blow on his rib.

Vilchez is the second player he will miss next Qualifiers games for Alianza Lima keeper George Forsyth is also sidelined with injury.

Peru are, which are living their worst time ever, will host Venezuela on September 6; later, they will face Olympic champion Argentina on September 10 with the aim to earn some points that help them improve their position at the standings.

So far, Peru rank at the bottom of the overall standings with just two points; the first stage of the Qualifiers is about to end.
