Q: What is the South American World Cup Qualifying Tournament?

A: The South American World Cup Qualifying Tournament is a 10-team qualifying tournament for the 2010 World Cup. The tournament, which began in September 2007, will see each country playing each other twice.

The top four teams from South America will automatically qualify. The fifth place finisher will play the fourth place team from CONCACAF in a two-game playoff for the right to play in South Africa.
